Well for starters, lets say this. It is for older kids! don't give this set to 7 and 8 year olds because they will get annoyed and irratated with the laser and machine gun turret pieces. I know because im 13. Here are some pros and cons of what to expect

Pros
Great detail
good size (at least for the hawk)
good minifigs
great weapons
Cons
The laser and machine gun pieces WILL fall off, i know, it is very frustrating, so i just glued it, which helps a whole lot. (i used glue that will come off with a little bit of force, just in case i resell it)
banshee dissapointingly small
a little expensive
Not for young kids. 10 and up is a good range.
Overall: Great set, i would buy it again if i had to.

This figure has great detail. I collect Halo action figures and when I saw this at Wal-Mart, I just had to have it. It doesn't have much articulation, only the wrists come to mind. It comes with a stand so he can remain somewhat upright. The S.M.G. (gun) is awsome, however, when I tried to get him to hold it, it broke. I wouldn't advise trying to fit it into the hand unless your verrry careful. The detail is astounding, and when my sister came over she nearly threw up. =)
If your a collecter, this might be worth buying, if you were going to get it for your child, you might want to give it a miss.

The second spartan is less than fond of operating the gun. Aside from that, the product is aesthetically pleasing and the warthog is reasonably easy to maneuver. So far, seems to be a decent battery life and the range isn't bad. I'd say overall it's a fairly decent product, especially if you're a fan of halo.

It arrived on time, which in my book is a plus.It is as good as the others I have bought in the past except for this. It can barely stand up, the joints are so loose I have to pose it in a kneeling position. None of the others have had this problem so it might the luck of the draw. To sum up it looks great, good detail, nothing fell off during shipping and it arrived on time I just wish it wasn't such a lush.

As an Artist and Halo Fan I was happy to see that the action figure was very nicely detailed, It makes for a good base reference material for my paintings and 3D modeling work.
The only peeve I have about it is that it's pretty small; Even though they still managed to pack in a lot of detail into it I was hoping to find it in a 12" size with the sniper rifle. Which I'll be waiting for.
So I gave it 4 stars only because of the size issue but it is a really nice piece to have on your desktop! :)

I think you should buy this now. It looks so cool, and has great detail. He comes with a brute shot, and a spike grenade. Be careful with the grenade. It has a long thin handle that I think is probably a little frail. This is one of Mcfarlane's best.

Halo should have been marketed by Lego. There isn't a Lego set that my 9 year old son can't put together. He has sets from almost every series that Lego puts out.

My son is also a Halo fan and we've purchased every Halo Mega Blocs set. Each one sucks. The pieces don't fit well and they all fall apart at the slightest touch. Some of the pieces won't even snap together. The only good thing I can say is that the models look good when they are completed (if possible) but they don't stay intact.

Ever since Halo 3 came out 2 years ago, the Recon Armor has been more pursued by gamers than a masters degree. For some reason, everybody wants it, but no one can get it. (With the exception being buying Halo 3: ODST and completing 7 near impossible task in both games) Now with this figure you "can haz reconz" This figure does a great job of replicating the Recon Armor and is more durable than other MasterChief models, this model is also more poseable and with dual pistols some great poses can be made, an absolute buy if your a halo fan.

Halo is at the top of my grandson's list. He was very thrilled about the Rookie I ordered for him. Too bad it's arm was broken when it arrived. When I contacted Amazon I was informed I could receive a refund but not another Rookie. Needless to say someone came out on this-selling a broken toy-because the grandson wanted to keep it. He now has a bandaged Rookie in his Halo force!!!

For those not in the know, the Flood are a parasitic species found in the Halo universe. Through the use of Infection forms (small multi-legged and antennaed creatures), they attack, take over, and mutate the bodies of sentient creatures. Whether the sentient is alive or dead makes no difference, so long as the body is in servicable condition. Species doesn't matter so long as it has sufficient mass to be intelligent. They've been shown to infect Human, Sanghelli (Elites), Unggoy (Grunts), and Jiralhanae (Brutes). This one happens to be an unlucky UNSC Marine, equipped with his SMG.

The Combat Form seen here is the second stage of the Flood life cycle. Eventually this form will turn into a Carrier Form and pass the infection on to more unlucky creatures.



Now that the backstory is out of the way, we can get to the toy itself. It is very very detailed. One can see the look of pain etched onto the soldier's face, the stubble of his shaved head and the joints of the chitinous extensions of the Flood infection.

He comes equipped with a single UNSC issue SMG. The gun comes with, if I recall correctly, a single storage peg that is common to the Halo figures. Unfortunately, this peg has no where to go on this figure, so it would be very easily lost. The gun is also rather difficult to get into his hand, as shown in the picture. I ended up putting the SMG on my Master Chief figure.

As to the articulation...well...there isn't a whole lot. The torso moves slightly, the arms rotate (in particular, the Flood arm) and the hands rotate. No articulation to the legs. The figure also requires a circular display stand (included) to remain upright. He's not really a 'play' figure, but rather a 'display' figure.

Durability...I have a bit of concern with this figure. The form has three feelers/tentacles extending from the chest. If the figure falls over, there is the chance that these will be damaged.

On the upside, the Flood arm (right side in the picture) has a hand that can easily hold the Fragmentation Grenade that came with my Master Chief.

He may be small, with a funny hump on his back, but the Grunt is a fun, cute little guy. If by cute you mean a nasty little guy that would like to shoot the nearest ODST he can find.

He comes with two guns. One problem with the entire line of Halo figures is in the hands. One hand is great for holding a gun. The other is shaped to hold something, but not usually a gun. It is lacking the pointing pointer finger that is required to hold a gun, so some of the figures can look a little silly with a gun in that hand.

He has a removable breathing mask with a nasty little mouth filled with teeth.

Fairly well poseable, and different from all of the other strong guys on the team, you will want an army of these guys.

This is a very good replica of the Spartan Security Armor Varient, as it even includes the little radio on the back. While it comes with dual maulers, I found it a pain to try and get him to grasp them. Overall, he's very flexible, and the joints work out perfectly. I've tried swapping armor with some of my other olive spartans and the system seems to work very well.

What a fragile POS

The first time I tried (carefully) putting the SMG in the figure's right hand, the pistol grip broke off.

I also found that the left elbow doesn't bend too well.

Since I can't display it to my liking anymore...I might as well let the four year old finish it off.
